The 29^th May 2017 sees the welcome return of the Surrey County Show. Always a popular agricultural event this year is shaping up to be the best one yet.

The show is being held on Stoke Park’s sixty-six acres, approximately a mile from Guildford Town Centre.

Rail and road links are excellent plus there is a park and ride facility so there’s no problem getting to the event which aims to bring rural life to Guildford.

The Surrey County Show is the UK’s biggest one day agricultural show and it sees in excess of forty thousand attendees. Yes, in one day!  There will be something for everyone, young or young at heart, from animals to food.

Using 2016’s event as a template this is what 2017’s visitors can look forward to on what is hopefully going to be a warm and sunshine filled spring day.

This is the place to be to see hundreds of cattle, horses, donkeys, sheep, pigs and goats competing for the esteemed Surrey County Show rosettes and prize cards. See the best of each breed. Will you pick the winners?

A must-see component in the show is the International horse and rider combinations in the Grand Arena. Competing for a prize fund of over £6000 the Grand Prix and County Stakes show jumping classes are bound to be excellent.

The Countryside Arena offers delightful shows and demonstrations throughout the day. From falconry to fly fishing and gun dogs to sheep dogs you’ll see nature going about its business. Enchanting.

There’s a ring which is 100{f622f7e5f7e5d806c2139b1a71e4cdb78476c780d42bb46e576367634e5daa08} for dogs and this is a perennial favourite with visitors. Dog agility, Service Dogs UK and family dog shows keep this area buzzing from the moment the show opens.

The little ones will adore Miller’s Ark Petting Farm. Expect the loveliest goats, sheep, lambs, piglets and miniature donkeys to be eager to meet their human friends.

Whatever your heart desires the shopping opportunities at the Surrey County Show are unsurpassable.

Clothing and jewellery, homeware, handmade leather belts and crafts will be well represented. For the thrill seekers, electric bikes and new cars will be on sale too.

The Surrey Food Theatre had an exciting line up in 2016 and 2017 should prove equally enthralling and instructive.

From butchers to cookery schools, cheese making and a Gardeners Question Time in which you can discuss your produce, every visitor will leave the show with greater knowledge to take back to their kitchen and kitchen garden.
